A Rustic Wedding

This wedding was an absolute joy to shoot. Nestled in the picturesque Kent countryside, the venue offered a perfect blend of rustic charm and modern elegance, making it an unforgettable backdrop for a truly magical celebration.

Farthingloe Barn – is a gem tucked away from the hustle and bustle, providing an idyllic setting for a wedding. The barn itself is a stunning structure with its timber beams, high ceilings, and large windows that flood the space with natural light. The surrounding countryside offers endless photo opportunities, from rolling hills to lush, green gardens.

Preparations

Bridal Prep

As I arrived on the wedding day, I was immediately struck by the serene beauty of the location. Adele and Aaron couldn’t have chosen a better place to say their vows and celebrate with loved ones. The combination of historic charm and natural beauty set the stage for a perfect day.

The day began with capturing the excitement and anticipation as the bridal party got ready in the home the couple share together. Once every hair piece was in place, and the bouquets gathered, they made their way to the venue, where Aaron was already waiting for his bride.

The Ceremony

The ceremony was simple, but beautiful. Adele and Aaron exchanged their vows in front of their loved ones, with their children by their sides, who it must be said, stole the show at times! After the ceremony it was time for the photographs, whilst the guests enjoyed a glass of bubbly. Then came the wedding breakfast and speeches. I love capturing these moments, where the guests are thoroughly enjoying themselves and laughing at the various anecdotes being told.

The Golden Hour

After the gorgeous ceremony, and once the guests had eaten the delicious wedding breakfast, we got the chance to capture the golden hour. This was one of the highlights for me as a photographer. As the sun began to set, the light was perfect for creating dreamy, ethereal images. The golden hues of the setting sun provided a warm and romantic glow, highlighting the love and happiness shared by the newlyweds.

The reception was a lively and joyous celebration, filled with heartfelt toasts, laughter and dancing. Farthingloe Barn’s reception area, with its charming decor and inviting atmosphere, provided the perfect setting for festivities. Every detail, from the beautifully decorated tables to the delicious food, contributed to an unforgettable evening. The definition of a rustic wedding!

Reflections

Photographing a wedding at Farthingloe Barn was an experience I will cherish. The stunning venue, combined with the love and joy of the couple and their guests, made it a day to remember.
